Anas ibn Mālik

Concerning Anas ibn Mālik, Abū Ḥanīfa said: “I met Anas ibn Mālik in the congregational mosque of Basra in the year ninety-five. I heard him say: ‘I heard God’s Messenger, God bless him and grant him peace, say: Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.’” Abū Ḥanīfa said: “I also heard him say: ‘I heard the Prophet say: One who directs others to good is like one who performs it.’” Abū Ḥanīfa said: “I also heard him say: ‘I heard the Prophet say: God Most High loves the relief of the distressed.’”
