Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Harawī related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Muṣʿab related to us. He said: Muṣʿab related to us. He said: Ḥammād ibn Qīrāṭ related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Ḥabīb ibn Abī Thābit, may God have mercy on them, who said: I was present with Ibn ʿUmar, may God be pleased with them both, when a Bedouin came and asked him about an ʿumrā gift. Ibn ʿUmar, may God be pleased with them both, said: “It belongs to the person to whom it was given.”

An ʿumrā is a gift expressed as lasting for the recipient’s lifetime.
