حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله السعدي، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن صالح، قال: حدثنا مروان بن معاوية، عن حنظلة بن أبي سفيان، قال: أمرت النعمان أن يسأل لي حماداً عن القنوت فسأله فقال: كل قنوت بدعة، إلا قنوت الوتر.

Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Saʿdī related to us. He said: al-Ḥasan ibn Ṣāliḥ related to us. He said: Marwān ibn Muʿāwiya related to us, from Ḥanẓala ibn Abī Sufyān, who said: I told al-Nuʿmān to ask Ḥammād for me about the qunūt. He asked him, and he said: “Every qunūt is an innovation, except the qunūt of the witr prayer.”
