أخبرنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبيد بن عتبة، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن مسبّح العُمري، قال: حدثنا حماد بن الوليد، عن أبي حنيفة وأبي برجه الكندي رحمة الله عليهم، عن عطاء بن أبي رباح أنه كان لا يستثني في الإيمان.

An exception refers to qualifying the statement of faith with “if God wills”; it does not refer here to excluding someone else from faith.
