Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad informed us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Nawfal related to us: ʿUbayd ibn Yaʿīsh related to us: Zayd ibn Ḥubāb related to us, from Abū Bakr al-Nahshalī, who said: I shared a mount with Abū Ḥanīfa on the way to Mecca. When night fell while he was riding, he would sit upright in his litter and not stir until he had recited a third of the Qurʾān.
