حدثنا محمد بن خزيمة، وغير واحد، قالوا: حدثنا محمد بن الفضل، قال: حدثنا أبو مطيع، عن سفيان الثوري، عن أبي حنيفة رضي الله عنه، عن عاصم، عن أبي رزين، عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما،قال: في المرأة ترتد؟ تحبس ولا تقتل.

Muḥammad ibn Khuzayma and more than one other person related to us. They said: Muḥammad ibn al-Faḍl related to us. He said: Abū Muṭīʿ related to us, from Sufyān al-Thawrī, from Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, from ʿĀṣim, from Abū Razīn, from Ibn ʿAbbās, may God be pleased with them both, who said: Concerning a woman who turns away: she is imprisoned, not killed.
حدثنا محمد بن محمد بن سلام أبو نصر الفقيه، قال: سمعت محمد بن الفضيل، قال: سمعت أبا مطيع، يقول:ما رأيت من أصحاب الحديث أفقه من سفيان الثوري، وكان أبو حنيفة أفقه منه.

Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Sallām, Abū Naṣr the jurist, related to us. He said: I heard Muḥammad ibn al-Fuḍayl say: I heard Abū Muṭīʿ say: I have never seen anyone among the people of hadith more learned in jurisprudence than Sufyān al-Thawrī. Abū Ḥanīfa was more learned in jurisprudence than him.
