حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد الهمداني، قال: حدثنا القاسم بن عبد الله بن عامر بن زرارة، قال: حدثنا محمد بن بشر البزاز، قال: حدثنا محمد بن المغيرة الثقفي من آل أبي عقيل، قال: حدثني مسعر، وأبو حنيفة، عن زياد بن علاقة، عن قطبة بن مالك رضي الله عنه، قال: سمعت النبي ﷺ يقرأ في إحدى ركعتي الفجر ﴿وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ﴾.

Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd al-Hamadhānī related to us: al-Qāsim ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir ibn Zurāra related to us: Muḥammad ibn Bishr al-Bazzāz related to us: Muḥammad ibn al-Mughīra al-Thaqafī, of the family of Abū ʿAqīl, related to us: Misʿar and Abū Ḥanīfa related to me, from Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqa, from Quṭba ibn Mālik—may God be pleased with him—who said: I heard the Prophet—God bless him and grant him peace—recite in one of the two units of the dawn prayer: ‘And the lofty date palms, with their clustered spathes.’
The quotation is Qurʾān 50:10.
