حدثنا صالح بن أحمد، قال: حدثني محمد بن شوكر، قال: حدثنا القاسم بن الحكم، قال: حدثنا أبو حنيفة، عن يزيد بن صهيب، عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: سألته عن الشفاعة؟ فقال: يعذب الله قوماً من أهل الإيمان، ثم يخرجهم بشفاعة محمد ﷺ، قلت له: فأين قوله: ﴿وَمَا هُم بِخَارِجِينَ مِنْهَا﴾ [المائدة: ٣٧]، قال: أما تقرأ ما قبلها ﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا﴾ [المائدة: ٣٦] الآية.

Related to us: Ṣāliḥ ibn Aḥmad; he said: related to me: Muḥammad ibn Shawkar; he said: related to us: al-Qāsim ibn al-Ḥakam; he said: related to us: Abū Ḥanīfa, from Yazīd ibn Ṣuhayb, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh: He said: I asked him about intercession. He said: “God punishes some people of faith, then brings them out through Muḥammad’s intercession, may God bless him and grant him peace.” I asked him: “Then what about His saying, ‘They will not come out of it’ [al-Māʾida 37]?” He said: “Do you not read what precedes it: ‘Those who disbelieve, even if they possessed everything on earth’ [al-Māʾida 36]”—the verse.
The first-person questioner is not identified by expansion. The abbreviated reference to the remainder of the verse is retained.
