Fāṭima bint Muḥammad ibn Khubayb ibn Ḥabīb

Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Kūfī informed us: Fāṭima bint Muḥammad ibn Khubayb ibn Ḥabīb related to me: I heard my father say: These are Ḥamza al-Zayyāt’s books. I read in them, from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him—from Muḥammad ibn al-Zubayr, from al-Ḥasan, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn—may God be pleased with him—from the Prophet—God bless him and grant him peace—that he said: ‘There is no vow in disobedience, and its expiation is the expiation of an oath.’

With this chain, from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God be pleased with him—from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir—may God be pleased with him—who said: Surāqa ibn Mālik ibn Juʿshum asked the Prophet—God bless him and grant him peace—saying, ‘Messenger of God, tell us about this religion of ours: for what do we act—for that concerning which the pens have already run and the decrees have been established?’ The account continues.
