حدثنا قَبيصة بن الفضل بن عبد الرحمن الطبري، قال: حدثنا زكريا بن يحيى النيسابوري، و: كتب إلي زكريا بن يحيى، قال: حدثني عبد الله بن أحمد بن خالد الرازي، قال: حدثنا رزين بن نجيح أبو ثابت البصري، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن مهدي، قال: حدثنا أبو الجَوَّاب الأحوص بن جَوَّاب، قال: حدثنا سفيان الثوري، عن أبي حنيفة رحمة الله عليه، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما: أنه سئل كيف كن النساء يصلين على عهد رسول الله ﷺ؟ قال: كن يتربعن فأُمرن بأن يَحتفِزن.

Qabīṣa ibn al-Faḍl ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ṭabarī related to us. He said: Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyā al-Naysābūrī related to us; and Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyā wrote to me. He said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn Khālid al-Rāzī related to me. He said: Razīn ibn Najīḥ, Abū Thābit al-Baṣrī, related to us. He said: Ibrāhīm ibn Mahdī related to us. He said: Abū al-Jawwāb al-Aḥwaṣ ibn Jawwāb related to us. He said: Sufyān al-Thawrī related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, may God have mercy on him, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, may God be pleased with them both: He was asked how women prayed in the time of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: They used to sit cross-legged, then were instructed to draw themselves together.
