حدثنا قبيصة بن الفضل بن عبد الرحمن الطبري، قال: حدثنا عثمان بن عفان السجزي، قال: سمعت محمد بن سماعة، يقول: سمعت حفص بن غياث، يقول: أبو حنيفة نادر من الرجال، لم أسمع بمثله قط في فهمه وبصره.

Qabīṣa ibn al-Faḍl ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ṭabarī related to us: ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān al-Sijzī related to us: I heard Muḥammad ibn Samāʿa say: I heard Ḥafṣ ibn Ghiyāth say: Abū Ḥanīfa is a rare man. I have never heard of his like in understanding and insight.
