حدثنا علي بن محمد السمسار البلخي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الرحمن العنبري، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أسعد التغلبي، قال: حدثنا زهير بن معاوية، قال: حدثنا أبو حنيفة، عن كثير الرّماح، عن أبي ذراع، قال: سألت ابن عمر عن قوله تعالى: ﴿فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ﴾ قال: عزلاً وغير عزل.

ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Simsār al-Balkhī related to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAnbarī related to us: Muḥammad ibn Asʿad al-Taghlibī related to us: Zuhayr ibn Muʿāwiya related to us: Abū Ḥanīfa related to us, from Kathīr al-Rammāḥ, from Abū Dhirāʿ, who said: I asked Ibn ʿUmar about the words of the Most High, ‘Approach your tilth however you wish.’ He said, ‘With withdrawal or without withdrawal.’
The quotation is Qurʾān 2:223; ‘withdrawal’ renders ʿazl.
