The teacher Abū ʿAbd Allāh said: I heard Khāqān say: Ṣāliḥ, the judge of Tirmidh, informed us, from Abū Yūsuf: I heard Abū Ḥanīfa say: “I dreamed that I entered a cemetery, went to the Prophet’s grave, opened it and took out his bones. Distressed, I said: ‘Of all the graves, I go to the Prophet’s grave!’ I returned and put them in their place, then awoke. I visited Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn and told him. He said: ‘If your dream is true, you will revive your Prophet’s practice.’” He said: “I was timid, but afterward I was compelled to give legal opinions.”
