العرزمي (report 2343; identity unresolved)

Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Sarakhsī related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn Muqātil related to us. He said: I heard Ḥukkām ibn Salm say: Abū Ḥanīfa was told: “Al-ʿArzamī says that ʿĀʾisha, God be pleased with her, used to travel without an unmarriageable male relative.” Abū Ḥanīfa, God have mercy on him, replied: “What does al-ʿArzamī know of the interpretation of this report? ʿĀʾisha, God be pleased with her, was the Mother of the Believers, and thus had an unmarriageable relationship with all people.”
