حدثنا علي بن محمد البلخي من سكة الدباعين، قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن فضل بن موفّق الكوفي، قال: سمعت أبي يقول: عن أبي حنيفة، عن حماد رحمة الله عليهما، في نصراني طلق امرأته ثلاثاً ثم أسلما؟ قال: لا تحل له حتى تنكح زوجاً غيره.

ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Balkhī, from the tanners’ lane, related to us: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Faḍl ibn Muwaffaq al-Kūfī related to us: I heard my father say: From Abū Ḥanīfa, from Ḥammād—may God have mercy on them both: Concerning a Christian who divorced his wife three times and then they both embraced Islam, he said, ‘She is not lawful for him until she marries a husband other than him.’
