Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā ibn Ziyād al-Dāmghānī

Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Nāṣiḥ al-Shaʿrānī related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā al-Dāmghānī related to us.

And Abū Ḥafṣ al-Iṣbahānī Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad related to us. He said: Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Qūmisī wrote to me in his own handwriting, informing me in his letter. He said: Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā ibn Ziyād related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Abī Ṭayba related to us, from al-Nuʿmān Abū Ḥanīfa, from al-Haytham, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, God be pleased with them both, who said: The Messenger of God, God bless him and grant him peace, said: “People will come who say there is no divine decree. They will then pass from that into heresy. When you meet them, do not greet them; if they are ill, do not visit them; if they die, do not attend their funerals. They are the followers of the Dajjāl and the Magians of this community. It is incumbent upon God to join them to him.”

Dajjāl is the deceiving figure associated with the end times; the report’s polemical descriptions are retained as attributed historical speech.

He said: Aḥmad ibn Abī Ṭayba related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from ʿIkrima—God have mercy on them—from Ibn ʿAbbās, God be pleased with them both, who said: The Messenger of God, God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The foremost of martyrs on the Day of Resurrection is Ḥamza ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, and a man who stood before an unjust ruler, commanding and forbidding him.”

Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Abī Ṭayba related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa and Ayyūb—God have mercy on them—from Abān, from Anas, God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever builds a mosque for God in this world, God will build him a house in Paradise more spacious than it.”
