محمد بن زنبور

Al-Ḥasan ibn Maʿrūf al-Bukhārī, who settled in Balkh, related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn Zanbūr related to us. He said: al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUmayr al-Makkī related to us. He said: When Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, came to Mecca, those who sat with him most often were Ibn Jurayj and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Rawwād. Ibn Jurayj praised him and loved him.

Al-Ḥasan ibn Maʿrūf al-Bukhārī, who settled in Balkh, related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn Zanbūr related to us. He said: ʿAbd al-Majīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Rawwād related to us. He said: Whenever my father was uncertain about a matter of his religion, he wrote about it to Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him. When I traveled to Abū Ḥanīfa, he entrusted me with questions to ask him. When Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, came to Mecca, he stayed close to my father and followed his example in his affairs.

ʿAmr ibn ʿĀṣim al-Marwazī related to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn Zanbūr al-Makkī related to us. He said: I heard al-Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ say: These people’s hearts have been imbued with love for Abū Ḥanīfa, just as the Shīʿa have been imbued with love for ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, may God be pleased with him, to the point that they see no one as more knowledgeable than Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him.

He said: Muḥammad ibn Zanbūr related to us, from al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUmayr al-Makkī, who said: When Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, came to Mecca, those who sat with him most often were Ibn Jurayj and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Rawwād. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz was exceptionally devoted to him and praised him often.
