حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن أبي عون وخلف بن عامر قالا: حدثنا علي بن حجر قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش قال: حدثنا ابن جريج عن عطاء وعبد العزيز عن الشعبي وعن أبي حنيفة، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم رحمة الله عليهم قال: لا يحصن [الرجل] النكاحُ الحرام.

Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abi ʿAwn and Khalaf ibn ʿAmir related to us; they said: ʿAli ibn Hujr related to us; he said: Ismaʿil ibn ʿAyyash related to us; he said: Ibn Jurayj related to us, from ʿAtaʾ; and ʿAbd al-ʿAziz, from al-Shaʿbi; and from Abu Hanifa, from Hammad, from Ibrahim, may God have mercy on them; he said: An unlawful marriage does not confer the status of marital chastity on [a man].
The technical status is ihsan; the translation does not reduce the statement to a general moral judgment.
