Muḥammad ibn Muslim al-Ṭāʾifī

Jīhān ibn Khayb al-Farghānī related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥajjāj al-Naysābūrī related to us. He said: I sat with Muslim ibn Khālid al-Zanjī. He had a circle in which legal questions were discussed, and Muḥammad ibn Muslim al-Ṭāʾifī was in the circle. Al-Nuʿmān, Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, was mentioned, and Muslim ibn Khālid spoke at length in praise of him, describing his qualities and knowledge. Muḥammad ibn Muslim al-Ṭāʾifī said to him: “Not all of that!” Muslim said: “Indeed, and more than that.” Muḥammad ibn Muslim fell silent, as though acknowledging his claim.
