حدثنا أبي، قال: أخبرنا أسباط بن اليسع، قال: حدثنا سهل بن إبراهيم بن هشام بن عبيد الله الرازي قال: حدثنا عبد الرزاق والمكي بن إبراهيم، قالا: حدثنا أبو حنيفة، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم رحمهم الله قال: كان الأولون مخاضيب الرجال و[في] الثياب بخور.

My father related to us; he said: Asbat ibn al-Yasaʿ informed us; he said: Sahl ibn Ibrahim ibn Hisham ibn ʿUbayd Allah al-Razi related to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Razzaq and al-Makki ibn Ibrahim related to us; they said: Abu Hanifa related to us, from Hammad, from Ibrahim, may God have mercy on them; he said: The men of earlier generations used dye, and there was incense [in] their garments.
